The Stone Roses Covered by Daydream Cathedral

“Today’s the day she’s sworn to steal what she never could own and race from this hole she calls home.” – Ian Brown

The lyrics to Waterfall by The Stone Roses have always had a mysterious allure. Colored with hints of prophetic visions with the delivery of dismal lines like, “Free from the filth and the scum this American satellite’s won.”, “Soon to be put to the test to be whipped by the winds of the west.” and “Stands on shifting sands, the scales held in her hands.” this imagery-rich song can only be complete with it’s optimistic pay off: “She’ll carry on through it all, she’s a waterfall.”

Re-producing this song with the Daydream Cathedral twist reaffirmed the unique elements that Ian, John, Mani, and Reni each provided to the groove, vibe, attitude, emotion, and beauty that is The Stone Roses.

Daydream Cathedral’s version of ‘Waterfall’ debuted April 11, 2017 on ‘Rave On, A Madchester Celebration‘ presented by The Blog That Celebrates Itself Records.

‘Waterfall’ is also available as a stand-alone streaming-only single on Daydream Cathedral’s Youtube, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud featured below.
